The Elder Scrolls Online Will Be Free To Play For Returning Beta Players Next Week

It’s been a mighty busy year for the ladies and gents at Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda, and in the 12 months or so since The Elder Scrolls Online’s launch it’s undergone some hefty changes - not least the shift to buy-to-play.

Now all players need to play The Elder Scrolls Online to their hearts content is a copy of the base game; the subscription fees are a thing of the past. Next weekend though, you won’t even need a copy of the game, with ZOS announcing a free weekend for all players who took part in TESO’s beta.

A lot’s changed since then, with six major updates adding vast swathes of land, a justice system whereby you can steal from and murder the inhabitants of Tamriel, the new Champion System for further class customisation, 12-player Trials, and dyes with which to colour your armour.

Returning beta players will be able to download The Elder Scrolls Online and begin playing from Thursday, April 16th at 15:00 BST, and continue playing until the same time on Monday, April 20th. Will you be hopping in to give it a go? Long-time players, how has TESO improved since launch?
