EA’s big FIFA 16 reveal is finally here and features Women’s National teams from across the globe!
FIFA 16 will feature 12 International Women's teams: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, and the United States of America. Even though FIFA has taken the first step towards finally breaking down the gender barrier in sports games by including women’s national teams in FIFA 16, unfortunately that’s still not the main talking point!
Sadly for EA the game looks downright awful from the few animations and scenes shown in the trailer. With clunky mechanics, animations and clearly last gen character models and face scans, it seems like FIFA 16 might not be as revolutionary as any of us would have hoped.
Sure you can argue that EA hasn’t worked with female character models in FIFA games before, but at the same time it doesn’t look like they’ve put in a lot of effort. It’s still early days and maybe I’m just being harsh because I’ve been let down by FIFA too many times. Either way, let’s all appreciate what a big step this is for women’s football and hope this helps raise the profile for women's football across the globe.
