After a string of rumours and speculations, the OnePlus Two could be real afterall, as the company is all set to make it next big announcement on June 1.
On its official twitter account, the company writes how it is ready to ‘shake up’ the industry as it thinks its ‘time for change’. OnePlus Two will be the successor to the highly acclaimed OnePlus One.
OnePlus One is an impressive phone. It has the specs that are up there with the best of the phablets, but at a price which hovering in the mid-range segment. “If you’re looking for a top of the line phablet, but do not have the budget for the likes of the Apple iPhone 6 Plus or the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the OnePlus One is a great alternative,” we wrote in our OnePlus One review. During its launch, it even managed to pose a threat to the popular Xiaomi Mi 4, considering the fact that with just Rs 2,000 more you could get the One which comes with similar specs and 64GB memory (four times that of the Mi 4). If OnePlus manages to dish out the OnePlus 2 with some great specs at an unbelievable price, then the company could truly ‘shake up the industry’. However, for now, let’s just wait and watch.
Though OnePlus hasn’t released any specs, a ‘leaked’ benchmark test revealed a new device that is speculated to be the OnePlus Two, and could come with Android 5.1 Lollipop and Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor.
The Geekbench Benchmark test for a device named OnePlus One A2001 was spotted on the site which further revealed that the device also includes a 2777MB RAM which implies that it will come with 3GB RAM. It will also be powered by a 64-bit 1.55GHz octa-core chipset. The rumoured OnePlus Two has also received a score of 1256 for single-core and 4093 for multi-core.
This news should not come as a surprise as OnePlus CEO Peter Lau earlier this month had hinted at the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor in the upcoming smartphone along with its price, as reported by Gizchina. The device is also rumoured to sport a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.
